How much does it cost to pay someone to build a website in the UK? Prices vary widely: freelancers often charge £750 – £3 000 for a 4–6-page site. Website for Trades charge only £750 all in. This includes the domain hosting for a year too.
How long will it take to build my website? From first enquiry to going live is 2 – 4 weeks. Typical flow: • Discovery call & content brief (Day 1–3) • Design mock-up approval (Week 1) • Build & on-page SEO (Week 2) • Client review & tweaks (Week 3) • Launch & hand-over (Week 4).
Can I make changes after the site goes live? Yes. We use user-friendly platforms (Wix or WordPress) so you can log in and edit text, swap photos or add pages. We also include a 30-minute hand-over call and video tutorial if you need.
Will I own the site & domain? 100 % yours. The domain is registered in your name and all website files are transferred to your account on completion.
Can I build a website for free? Yes and no. DIY builders like Wix or WordPress.com offer free tiers, but you still invest time and eventually pay for: • Custom domain (£10–30 / yr) • Ads-free plans / hosting (£5–25 / mo) • Premium themes or apps, PLUS the time and confusion you may encounter if you have never built a site before. If you’d rather focus on the job site than your website, our £750 package handles it for you.
Do I need to provide content and images? We can write copy and source royalty-free trade imagery as part of the package. If you have logos, job-site photos or wording you’d like included, we’re happy to use them—it often makes the site feel more “you”.

Are there any hidden costs? No. Your £750 covers design, build, first-year hosting & domain. After 12 months you renew the domain/hosting yourself (usually £10–£50 / yr for .co.uk; even premium extensions rarely exceed £200 / yr).
Will you optimise my website for SEO? Absolutely. Every build includes: keyword-researched meta tags, mobile optimisation, fast hosting, schema markup and Google indexing. For ongoing work (content, backlinks, local citations, reporting) we offer an optional SEO care plan at £150 / month – far below the UK SME average of £500 – £1 250 / month
